(Historical) development of the school management and its influence on the development of the education system in Kralovice

The Master's thesis deals with the history of education system in the Czech Republic and with the school management as closely related to the issue. The main focus is put on the historical development of the education system and its management in the town of Kralovice, West Bohemia. The aim of the thesis is therefore to demonstrate the gradual development and changes of the system in connection with the development of the school management within the mentioned territory. In particular, the most significant reforms and events affecting the education system are analysed in the study. The comprehensive view on the general development of the system and its management produced by the thesis can be beneficial for the pedagogical and administrative employees of every management level as well as for the local teachers, students and inhabitants of Kralovice.

It is based on the legal requirements for the performance of the headmaster and his managerial role required for the management of the school, which he has to manage. It describes an initial period of headmaster's dutin and it solves an subsequent phases of business. It highlights the influence of the length of time in managing activities in shaping the attitudes and improving the quality of school management. It describes the facts that brings the ever-changing conditions in the educational legislativ for the exercise of the headmaster, which significantly affect its access to the profession and life perspective.
Self-evaluation in the nursery school from the perspective of management

TITLE: Self-evaluation in terms of nursery management AUTHOR: Vaclava Čmolíková DEPARTMENT Charles University in Prague, college of education School Management Centre SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Vera Fantová ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to provide an overview of access of nursery schools to self- evaluation from a management perspective, compare the reality in nursery schools and units of the merged primary and nursery schools in the realization of self- evaluation and adopted measures, which are based on the self-evaluation report. In the theoretical section there are reported some basic terms related to self-evaluation, school management and the legislative framework. The subject of the research was to map how the managers of individual schools and units of the merged primary and nursery schools evaluate an area of the management. The result is a summarization of approach to school self- evaluation procedures in view of schools, which points to continuing problems in the evaluation of management of nursary schools and which opens a new way to understanding and doing self-evaluation more effective in the area of nursary schools. Impact of CSI activities on practice in primary schools in Prague

The Czech School Inspectorate (CSI) is the only institution responsible for external evaluation of educational system in the Czech Republic. Its main purpose is improving the quality of education provided. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe different CSI's activities and to find out which of them and how influence practice of primary schools in Prague. The results of the analysis of questionnaires, interviews with some headteachers and Deputy Chief School Inspector's comment show that majority of headteacher respondents act upon school inspection report, take inspectors' advice into consideration and follow them. The CSI also influences schools indirectly:  by setting Criteria for Evaluation of Conditions, Course and Outcomes of Education  by stakeholder pressure  by publishing of numerous outputs  by means of InspIS SET system The research shows that most headteacher respondents consider school inspections to be important for them.
